With a successful 2008 in the not-so-distant past, 2009 is promising to keep ILENE and DEREK POWER equally busy.

In the midst of travelling for much of 2006, 2007 and 2008 because of The Police's surprise reunion, Derek Power found time to Executive Produce EVERYONE STARES: THE POLICE INSIDE OUT. The film covers the formation and rise of The Police from 1978 to 1982 using on-stage, off-stage, and backstage footage.

Power is currently Executive Producing, along with his wife and partner Ilene, a new non-fiction television program: E-HOMICIDE. They are partnered with the show's creator, David Madsen, and Rasha Drachcovitch of non-fiction film specialists, 44 Blue. A pilot presentation has just been completed featuring a cast of amateur detectives who found each other online and attempt solve a number of cold cases.

Power's travels to Berlin in 2008 were necessitated via his involvement with the European Film Academy's Shooting Stars programme. Young actors and actresses nominated for a performance in a film coming from the country of their national origin, together make up the 28 members of the European Film Academy. Each country's national cinema organization in turn selected the relevant film and the particular performer from which the Jury selected nine especially strong performances.

Former Shooting Stars have included Daniel Craig, (now the seventh James Bond), Rachel Weisz, Emmanuelle Seigner and many other stars of the last 10 year period have emerged via the Shooting Stars program. At the 2008 Berlinale, Ilene Power and Prague based casting director Nancy Bishop also gave a workshop about Talent Marketing under the auspices of the Young Talent Campus of the Berlin Film Festival. In addition Power and his co-jurors moderated both a Casting Director's breakfast and an international press conference which will formally introduce the Shooting Stars to the world press.

Emmy award and Golden Globe-winning producer ILENE KAHN POWER is currently in pre-production for a documentary film that she and Donald Manelli are preparing on the extraordinary life and work of Stanley Brock. Brock is the philanthropist founder of REMOTE AREA MEDICAL, otherwise known as RAM, a humanitarian organization that brings no cost medical care to people all over the world, including the USA.

Ilene is in advanced development of THE CLARK ROCKEFELLER STORY with Judith Verno and Sony Pictures Television for Lifetime TV. Also in active development for Kahn Power is the remake of seventies cult film, THE PRINCESS ACADEMY, written by Susan Hurwitz Arneson, and produced by Kahn Power and Jackie Weintraub.

Kahn Power's ELVIS miniseries received a total of six Emmy nominations, resulting in two wins and three Golden Globe nominations in the 2006 Awards derby. Jonathan Rhys Meyers' startling portrayal of the King brought him the Award for Outstanding Performance as Best Actor in a movie or miniseries at that year's Golden Globes and on receipt of the Award he graciously thanked Executive Producer Kahn Power on camera.

The Awards for ELVIS continued a history of award nominations secured by Kahn Power, previously an Emmy winner herself for HBO's Robert Duvall STALIN in 1992. Nearly all the films or mini-series that she has made for which she has served as Executive Producer or Producer have secured nominations in various forums. In 1997, she achieved the extraordinary distinction of having Executive Produced three out of five films nominated for Golden Globe as Best Picture for Television, including Angelina Jolie's starring breakout role in GIA. Her TRAFFIC miniseries also managed to secure several Emmy nominations.

Ilene has recently been finishing LEGACY, a documentary created from more than a dozen Women In Film interviews of a group of iconic women whose careers are rooted in the myths and legends of Hollywood filmmaking. These women formed unions, were blacklisted but worked with the likes of Hitchcock, Kazan, Cimino, Brando, Welles, Nicholson, Dino de Laurentiis, Lillian Gish and Cary Grant. Among those featured are Hollywood legends Fay Wray, Gloria Stuart, Eva Marie Saint, Jane Wyatt, famed child actress Margaret O'Brien, writer Fay Kanin and celebrated film editor Anne V. Coates who edited David Lean's landmark Oscar winning epic LAWRENCE OF ARABIA -- the most nominated film in AMPAS history.

The original interviews are housed in a special Women In Film Collection at the UCLA Moving Image Archive. LEGACY debuted at a screening and gala at the James Bridges Theatre on March 30, 2006, hosted by Gena Rowlands. Directed and written by Linda Feferman, co-produced by Holly Thro and edited by Zachary Weintraub, with music composed by Mader, the film will be entered in upcoming film festivals.
